Gold vs. Satyameva Jayate | John Abraham opens about Conflict with Akshay Kumar with this Independence Day

John Abraham is as high as his film Parmanu — The Story of Pokhran is resonating with the audience, and it has grabbed the Rs. 50 crore mark at the box office. Now moving onto his next project, John Abraham has completed Satyameva Jayate that’s set for Independence Day release. Interestingly, the Independence Day will not be just one film release day. Akshay Kumar is also starring a biopic titled Gold that will clash with John’s next movie.

Akshay Kumar and John Abraham have worked in several movies together such as Desi Boyz, Housefull 2 and Garam Masala. Through the years, they have maintained a pretty strong bond. Speaking at the success party of Parmanu — The Story Of Pokhran, he had been asked how he feels about the box office conflict with his buddy Akshay. “Akshay is a celebrity in Gold, and I am a celebrity in Satyameva Jayate. That is a film maker’s decision. It is about Excel Entertainment and T-Series, so I don’t have any say in that whatsoever. So far as competing with Akshay is concerned, I wish to make it clear that he is my older in the industry. I like him, and I have always wished the best for him, and I am certain that he’ll also want the best for me,” John stated.

Since Parmanu is doing well and has resonated with the audience, John Abraham and manager Abhishek Sharma were asked when they’re expecting a National Award. John said,”We hope we make it into the National Awards. I believe it’s going to be well deserved on the part of our manager, Abhishek Sharma. It’s a good, commercial, enjoyable and content-driven film but it’s too premature to talk about our odds of winning a National Award. We aren’t over-confident people. We believe we will deserve anything the jury will pick for our movie but at the same time I think people loved the film and that is important for all of us.”

Speaking about starring in over 45 films and finishing 15 years in the film industry and how things have changed in time, John Abraham said,”See it is cyclical. If your one film does good, then people laud you for it, and you receive a bouquet of blossoms for it, and if your movie does not do well, then you get brickbats for it. So I think I’ve become a classic horse in this business. Now I know exactly what works for the film and what works in the mind of people.”

John Abraham is starring in Satyameva Jayate which stars Manoj Bajpayee and can be helmed by Milap Zaveri. Akshay Kumar starrer Gold is a biopic on Indian Hockey Team winning a gold medal at Olympics post Independence. Both the movies are scheduled to launch on August 15, 2018.
